sample campaigns Our ammunition was ready. By generating enviromental and political support, we had developed controversy over safety in the Bay. This then became a real media story. To heighten further interest, we sent weekly navigational reports as to the location of the tugboats during their maiden voyage to the Bay. A high-drama media event was created for the arrival of the new tugboats. Press and VIP's were first taken on conventional tugboats to a location under the Golden Gate Bridge. Once there, they were invited to 'walk the plank' from the conventional tugboats to the newly arrived Tractor Tugboats. The press loved it! The photo opportunities were tremendous. The piece de resistance was the choreographed dance by the Tractors for filming opportunties. Pre-arrival press was covered by over twenty local newspapers. The christening and demonstration on the Bay was covered by 60 international publications, every local paper, and television media such as CNN International, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News. (Top)
